The Process

a

selecting the beans

At GCco., we offer a rotating selection of fresh coffee from all over the globe, as well as few custom blends to keep things interesting. The process for selecting those beans is a true partnership. We rely on importers to provide us with information to help make the initial selection. In that, we consider harvest times, specific growing regions, elevation, and processing methods. However, to garner more control over the coffee, we’re developing a direct relationship with a few bean farmers. We anticipate our first arrival this July, and will provide additional information when it becomes available.

The Beans

GCco’s mission is to source, roast, and share some of the finest coffee on earth. Our beans do change, from time to time; below is a link to GCco’s current beans and blends. The roast menu is broken down into the country of roast, the specific farm (or producing cooperative), the variety of coffee species, the altitude at which the bean was grown, and the processing method. If you have any questions, about our beans or our bean choices, just give us a call; we love talking about all things coffee!

The Roastery

As for our production process, it’s pretty simple; we roast, sample, package and repeat. At GCco., every step is scrutinized for absolute perfection; plan and simple, if the coffee doesn’t meet our standards, we wont package it. For a glorious deep-dive into the Roasting Process; please follow this link, to the National Coffee Association’s website. They offer detailed information into the science, and art, of roasting coffee beans.

The Roaster

Once on a trip to Grand Rapids, Michigan, we visited the Grand Rapids Coffee Roasters. It was here I saw my first green coffee. I was so intrigued with the many different options of green coffee; I must have asked their roaster Craig a million questions. They allowed me to purchase some green coffee that day and I never looked back.

Packing the beans

Like we said, if the coffee doesn’t meet our standards, we won’t bag it. Below is a list of places whom offer our fine roasts. If you’d like to see our products in your neighborhood grocery store, please let us know; we’ll reach out to them, and see if we can work some magic!
