Join us on December 4th at Gallery Coffee Co for the 5th Annual UP Voice Singing Competition! This exciting event will once again showcase 20 of the Upper Peninsula’s most talented vocalists as they compete live in front of a panel of judges and a crowd of over 200 people — plus our online livestream audience.
New this year, the UP Voice will be a ticketed event to benefit the Roam Community Foundation. Standing room tickets are $5 and limited seated tickets are $10. Contestants (when announced) will not need to purchase a ticket. Kids under 12 are free.

🎤How to enter:
Submit a 2:30-minute video via Gallery Coffee Company’s Facebook Messenger starting October 22nd through November 24th. Be sure to state and spell your full name at the beginning of the video. Submissions are limited to solo or duet performances—no bands or karaoke setups. Only 20 finalists will be selected to perform live on December 4th!
Important Dates:
Video submissions: October 22 – November 24
Finalists notified by: November 25
Live event: December 4, doors open at 5:00 PM, performances start at 6 PM.
Live Performance Rules:
Solo or duets only, performing acapella, with a guitar or harmonica, or using an mp3 track (no bands or karaoke setups).
Live performances must be no longer than 3 minutes.
No stage props allowed, and contestants will have 2 minutes to set up.
Contestants will be judged on a 10-point system, with the winner crowned based on total points.
In celebration of our 5th year, 5 winners will be awarded!
1st Place: $500 cash
2nd Place: $300 cash
3rd Place: $200 cash
NEW Golden Buzzer Winner: $500 cash
NEW Fan Favorite Winner: $200 cash
Contestants must sign a release form, and any contestants under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian accompany them. A parent or guardian must also sign the release form for contestants under 18.
The UP Voice is proudly presented by the Roam Community Foundation (RCF) — a local nonprofit dedicated to helping Munising families through hard times by bringing people together for good times. Our team strives to promote events for all ages through concerts, interactive art experiences, and community-sponsored gatherings. To date, RCF has donated over $100,000 back into the Munising community.
